Plaza España

The Plaza España is the entry point to the center of Palma and the meeting point of many people too. In this square we can see the King Jaume 1st statue. He was Aragon’s king in between 1213-1276. King Jaume 1st was known as the Conqueror due to its multiple conquers, among them, Majorca.
Also, in Plaza España there’re the train, bus and subway stations just in case you’d like to jump in one of these and have a ride through town or some close village. Besides, the square is where most of the city bus stop. No doubt, the first place to visit in Majorca to start the route around Palma.

La Rambla

La Rambla de Palma is a pedestrian street located in the center of Palma, very similar to the Rambla of Barcelona. In this promenade there’re a few kiosks where all kind of flowers are sold.
Long time ago, through this promenade there was a small river, “Sa Riera”, but its path was shifted and now it goes across the old walls of Palma.

The Passeig del Born is located between Plaza de Juan Carlos I and Plaza de la Reina. The Passeig del Born is one of the most crowded places for the Palma people since it has a boulevard shape and it’s filled with shops and restaurants. There are also two sphinxes at the beginning and two sphinxes at the end of the promenade, which make it peculiar.
It’s also surrounded by big trees that offer some shadow and make a unique environment.

Paseo Marítimo

The Seaside Promenade is a lovely place to visite while in Majorca. It starts in a small fishermen port and keeps going to the commercial port to end in the military port of Palma. It’s 4km long and a niche choice to go riding a bike through it while you admire the scenery of Mallorca such as La Seu (Majorca’s cathedral), L’Almudaina Palace and, finally, Bellver’s Castle. These are three imprescindible places that one must visit when coming on Whitsun in Majorca.

Sant Elm

Sant Elm is the perfect place for those who love hiking and nature. Besides its lovely sea views, Sant Elm also has leafy woods. It’s also a fishermen town which means that you’ll be able to see the fishermen doing their job, the boats and some fishes recently fished. Also, you can’t leave without seeing the lovely sunset while you’re having a drink.

Soller

A great idea to get to Soller is riding the Ferrocarril de Soller, an old train that goes from Palma to Soller. This way you’ll be able to see a charming view of Majorca while sitting in the train. Also, the train allows you to stop in Mirador Pujol de’n Banya, a lookout from which you’ll be able to take some photos and enjoy the views.
Once you’re in Soller you’ll be able to go for a walk and later, grab another train. This one takes you from Soller to the Port de Soller where you’ll see one of the prettiest sunsets and a charming beach.

Fornalutx

Another place to visit in Majorca during the Whitsun Holidays is the cozy town Fornalutx. This town has some awards and nowadays it’s also one of the prettiest towns of Spain. Parc Natural de S’albufera de Mallorca

It’s one of the most protected zones of Majorca in order to preserve its natural habitat. Besides, it’s the widest humid zone in the Balearic Islands. In this natural park you can do 4 routes to get to really know the ecosystem. There’s also an observation zone called Es Colombards where a wide variety of birds can be seen. It’s ideal to go with kids so they can learn a little bit more about the fauna, but be careful! It has to be silent so the birds won’t scare.

Parc Natural de la Península de Llevant

Its lenght is 1671 hectares which are ideal for hiking, cycling and snorkel. You’ll be able to observe a big quantity of vegetation and fauna, specially birds (the most special animal types in the Peninsula de Llevant) such as the audouin gull, the peregrine falcon, eagles and cormorants.
