Son Macià is a small village in the east of Mallorca. It is part of the municipality of Manacor and has just over 800 inhabitants. It originated from the grouping of the rural population scattered around a parish church, a school and a group of houses, known as the Cases Grans (Big Houses) or Cases Velles de Son Macià (Old Houses from Son Macià) The deeply rural character has always marked the economic base of the village, which has known how to preserve its traditions and still maintains them today.
